The fight to protect young girls from being lied to by the abortion industry in their most vulnerable times and even from abusers and human traffickers is not over. Again, the pro-abortionists are pushing to repeal the Parental Notification of Abortion Act through HB 1797 and SB 2190.
The Parental Notification Act saves about 1,000 beautiful babies a year. This act is responsible for a 57% drop in teenage abortions, and it protects the young girls from sexual exploitation from older men. Parents should be involved in the medical decisions of their daughter, especially when that decision could include irreversible surgery with lifelong consequences.
Not only are pro-aborts attacking the Parental Notification Act, but they are also pushing their agenda onto school aged children through the Responsible Education for Adolescent and Children’s Health. The REACH Act, as set forth in HB 1736 and SB 0647, would create an unfunded mandate to teach comprehensive sex education for K-12 and requires students to be instructed about abortion.
Although the REACH Act says that the information must be medically accurate, it does not require that students be instructed about when life begins, what an abortion procedure entails, or that abortion is the taking of human life. Possibly the worst aspect of the REACH Act is that it would require that children as young as third grade are taught where they can go for confidential services related to “reproductive healthcare”.
Please help stop this divisive attack on unborn babies, young girls, and parental rights in Illinois.
