This past Friday we held our 47th annual banquet for Illinois Right to Life Action, and what a success it was!
We welcomed former State Representative Jeanne Ives as our master of ceremonies for the night and Matt Walsh as our key-note speaker. Walsh, the well-known conservative commentator and writer for The Daily Wire, gave a compelling speech, systematically refuting common pro-abortion arguments in a clear and persuasive manner.
We were also pleased to have both Pastor Corey Musgrave, a candidate for state representative and the pastor at New Beginnings Church, as well as Fr. Steven Bauer who is the pastor at St. Alphonsus Parish in Chicago. Pastor Musgrave said a beautiful prayer to open the evening, and Fr. Bauer closed the night with another powerful prayer.
Among the attendees joining us for the night were a number of elected officials and candidates, including Congressman Daniel Lipinski, State Senator Jim Oberweis, and State Representative Amy Grant. Their attendance was such a gift to us and really gave witness to the noticeable presence of trusted, pro-life leaders in the state of Illinois.
During the night, we also took some time to remember the lives of three pro-life advocates who passed away this past year—Dr. Dolehide, Rosemary Diamond, Senator Tom Johnson—each of whom worked tirelessly to defend our state’s most vulnerable lives.
And finally, to all those who supported Illinois Right to Life Action through attending the banquet and/or donating to our organization: we are so very grateful for all your help in advancing the pro-life mission! Together we are truly transforming Illinois to bring about a culture of life!
Below are just several of the great images we captured from the night. If you’d like to see all of the photos, you can find them here.
