ILLINOIS RIGHT TO LIFE ACTION RESPONDS TO LOSS OF PRO-LIFE LEGISLATORS IN 2018 MIDTERMS

November 7, 2018 – (CHICAGO) On Wednesday morning, Illinois Right to Life Action (IRLA) rallied statewide pro-life activists in response to election results that ousted numerous pro-life allies from office.

“Personal PAC made this year’s race about abortion, and it’s no wonder, given the industry calls Illinois the abortion ‘oasis’ of the Midwest,” said IRLA Spokesperson Mary Kate Knorr. “Now, it is time to look ahead. The fight to protect women, families, and the unborn must continue. IRLA will lead that charge through the pursuit of new goals and strategies to directly combat what the abortion lobby is doing, and we invite pro-lifers across the state of Illinois to join us.”

IRLA unveiled a new vision for its approach to combating the abortion industry in Illinois at the organization’s annual dinner on October 26th. The new plan is founded on four pillars – public relations, voter outreach, government relations, and activism – and will be rolled out in anticipation of the 2020 election cycle.

“It is a sad moment when we lose allies down in Springfield. Their absence will be felt,” said IRLA Legislative Chairman Ralph Rivera. “But we will forge ahead, as we always have, and will continue to promote women’s health and the rights of unborn children. Pro-life Illinoisans cannot be discouraged; this fight is not yet over.”
